Nigeria: Don't Ask Me About Uche Again - Keshi

By Joshua Odeyemi

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has said he would no longer entertain any questions on Villarreal CF of Spain's striker, Ikechukwu Uche and so nobody should ask him why he has continued to over look the in-form striker.

Keshi who made this known yesterday in Abuja while speaking with journalists at a press parley said the in-form striker wanted to be begged to play for the country.

The coach revealed that Uche was actually invited for the first AFCON 2015 qualifier against Congo in Calabar but he turned down the invitation.

"I'm not going to beg Uche. I'm not going to tell Daniel Amokachi to beg Uche. We all played for this country for over twenty years and no one begged us to play. We were begging to play. Please, let this be the end, don't ask me about Uche again."

Keshi advised the media to be encouraging the boys who have come to play for their country rather than bringing up the issue of those who were not invited to the team.

"Why is it that it must be Ike Uche? It's not only him. We have other players who are not here like Obafemi Matins. Why do you people want to tear this team apart?," he queried.
