Ambode declares for Lagos guber

The contest for the governorship seat in Lagos has be­come more intense as Akinwumi Ambode, a chieftain of the All Pro­gressives Congress (APC) declared his intention to contest.

In his declaration rally at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos yesterday, Am­bode who is believed to be favoured by the party hier­archy said among other as­pirants, he believes he has the best qualities to govern Lagos.

According to him, the huge turnout of Lagosians was an indication that people love him and believe in his capabilities to take Lagos to greater heights.

He said: “I am in awe of the huge turn out of people today and this goes to show that I am appreciated and people have faith in me. It is for this reason that I give myself up to contest for the governorship of the state.

“Lagos is the largest cos­mopolitan city and every tribe in this country is repre­sented here. If I am elected governor, this city will expe­rience unprecedented devel­opment. I will ensure conti­nuity, equity and justice. No tribe will be marginalised and no section of the state will be under developed. We will take Lagos to the next level. This is what I stand for.
