Nigeria: Magical Kenya to Showcase at Akwaaba

Kenya will be extending its reach to Nigeria come October at the Akwaaba Africa Travel Market as The Kenya Tourism Board is set to lure more Nigerians to visit the East African country. Kenya, which is known for its rich wildlife and Indian Ocean resorts, received more than 15,000 Nigerians in 2012.

Magical Kenya intends to showcase and promote Kenya's rich savannah and timeless culture which has remained unchanged by the modern world. The KTB intends to market Kenya's pristine beaches and coral reef, equatorial forests and mighty snow-capped mountains, searing deserts, cool highland retreats and endless opportunities for adventure, discovery and relaxation.

Kenya will be exhibiting as a country for the first time as they attended last year's event as observers. This comes as the Gambia had earlier announced their attendance to the event with the DG of of the Gambian Tourism Board, Benjamin Roberts, leading a high-powered delegation.

Akwaaba African Travel Market is a marketing platform which aims to not only showcase Africa to the world but also connect Africans by encouraging Africans to travel often as well as to visit other African destinations. One of the ways it has done this is the Country Day celebrations which gives countries a dedicated period within the fair to showcase their food, culture and destinations to visitors.

In 2013, Rwanda stole the show as their cultural troupe wowed the audience with an electrifying performance. This year's event will be held at the Eko Hotel and Suites from October 26 to 28.
