THE Nigeria Football Federation's (NFF) electoral committee set up by the faction of the body headed by Ephraim Chukwuemeka, has clarified that candidates for the September 4 polls can forward their endorsement letters to the body as stipulated by articles 4.2 and 4.3 of the guidelines.
In a release made available to The Guardian, the body, however, said the letters must be on the letter headed official paper of the FA Chairman; shall bear the official stamp of the FA; be affixed with the passport photograph of the FA Chairman; and should be sent by e-mail to the Electoral Committee at This email address is being protected from spambots. Meanwhile, former Nigeria international and member of the dissolved electoral committee, Pascal Patrick, says he expects a free and fair process on Thursday.
Pascal dismissed a similar exercise held on August 26, which produced Chris Giwa as President, saying the forthcoming process will be the real and legitimate electoral process.
"The real and legitimate election is coming on the 4th (of September) and we are all expecting a free and fair process, not the illegitimate and illegal process that held on August 26 that has caused so much problems," he told sl10.ng.
"We cannot be seen to have an unfair or biased electoral process since we see the sham that held on August 26 as improper. So, we have no choice but to have a very credible exercise, where only the best candidates will be voted for."
With the Giwa-led NFF executive committee already disowned by FIFA, Pascal says the forthcoming election will have people from CAF and FIFA as observers, to prove how legitimate the process is.
"Both CAF and FIFA members will be present on election day, which is to show you how legitimate the process will be, and that it will be accepted by FIFA," he added.
