Luanda — The Angolan vice president , Manuel Domingos Vicente, Saturday in Luanda reaffirmed that the 2nd National Culture Festival (Fenacult/2014) is part of the Government?s cultural policy.
The official was speaking at the opening of the Fenacult/2014 at the "11 de Novembro" stadium.
He added that these actions are part of the Government's cultural policy and follow the Executive's effort headed by the head of State, in favour of culture and peace.
"With the country in peace, we can enjoy the advantages and benefits it offers, the reason why Angolans are getting mobilised for this cultural manifestation," stated the vice president.
According to Manuel Vicente, in the present world, dominated by globalisation, cultural values play a relevant role in the preservation of the identity of peoples.
Manuel Vicente added that the Government has promoted the festival that has been scheduled to take place every four years to assess the state of the country's culture, with a view to outlining new goals and strategies.
"We will continue with this task in favour of our rich and wide cultural patrimony and, consequently, our identity," he stressed.
The opening of the Fenacult2014 was witnessed by the minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, Government members and officials of the country's cultural sector.
