In every epoch, there are fashion enthusiasts who discover all of a sudden that a particular trend has become outdated and thus incongruent with the times. Many attempt to rebel and gloriously establish themselves as trend-setters; however, more often than not, the latter divide end up muddling trendsetting with a personal problem or shortcoming - which leads them to commit what many fashion buffs would readily identify or label as a fashion faux pas.
Hardly anyone would accuse the First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan, of fashion handicaps but not a few people have come out to condemn Dame Patience's fashion gaffe at a recent social function. It is no secret that the First Lady of Nigeria loves fashion and she does not try to hide it. At official and non-official functions, she tries to look her best. Although she has been criticized several times for making wrong fashion choices, she does not seem deterred by the opinion of her critics.
Recently, one of her pictures has been trending on the social media. In the picture, she is seen wearing what looks like a pair of reading glasses while a sunshade dangles from her dress at her bosom region. While many have risen to her defense by saying both serve two different purposes, others are of the opinion that the other, which was not in use, could have been tucked away in its case while awaiting usage.
