The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, has said that fighting crime and criminality was a collective responsibility and should not be left to Police alone.
Aderant spoke at this year’s edition of Merit/Recognition award presentation, an initiative of the Police Community Relation Committee, PCRC, in Lagos.
He said: “Police cannot do it all. We need the useful support of the public, who should get to us on time, in conjunction with the PCRC in their various localities, to nip crime and criminality in the bud before it is committed.”
Represented by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abdulahi Kurawa, he appealed to the members of the public to always avail Police with useful information in their bid to stem to the barest minimum crime and criminality in the state.
He lauded members of PCRC for their contribution towards the building project recently commissioned at Area C, charging other bodies affiliated to the various security agencies to emulate them.
